Software Alert: HemaTrax Print Server & HemaTrax
Standalone
1. Granulocyte and
Granulocyte Platelet Search Error
Problem Reported:
A customer reported that when using HemaTrax Standalone Version 6.2 to search
for products in the Granulocyte/Platelet product class that the program returned
a list of Granulocyte products instead. Conversely, a search for Granulocyte
products returned a list of Granulocyte/Platelet products.
Scope of Problem:
Testing at Digi-Trax reproduced this problem in the Standalone program Version
6.2. Further testing determined that the problem exists in the HTClient program
that ships with the print server beginning with Version 3.0.
Identified Cause:
The cause of the problem has been isolated to the file named "CompDef.txt". This
file populates the combination list selection boxes displayed in the search
windows.
Solution:
Two lines in the "CompDef.txt" text file, located in the application program's
directory, can be identified and the code numbers edited with the MS Windows
NotePad editor to read as follows:
Granulocytes = 4
Granulocytes/Platelets = 3
Two patches, one for the HemaTrax Standalone and the other for the HemaTrax
Print Server, will be released in the next few weeks. Installing the patches
will correct this file in the appropriate target application.
2. Apheresis
FFP|ACD-A/xx/>=-18C Search Failure
Problem Reported:
A customer reported that when a product search was done with "Fresh Frozen
Plasma", "Apheresis", "ACD-A", "-18 C or colder" product characteristics
specified, that the HemaTrax Standalone program would hang or freeze.
Scope of Problem:
Testing at Digi-Trax reproduced this problem in the Standalone program Version
6.2. Further testing determined that the problem manifests itself in a different
way in the HemaTrax Print Server, Version 3.0.1 and the print server with the
Version 3.0.2 patch applied. A search using the HTClient program for the same
product characteristics doesn't return anything. This problem only occurs when
searching based on product characteristics and does NOT occur when looking up
products based on the ICCBBA product code.
Identified Cause:
This issue has been traced to the Digi-Trax Indexed Sequential Access Method (DTiSAM)
dynamically linked library Version 3.0.1. The problem only occurs when looking
up products using the HemaTrax weighted product code. That lookup method
involves resolving indexes which specify duplicate keys. It also only occurs
when a specific index boundary condition exists.
Solution:
The index searching function dealing with duplicate key indexes has been
corrected and be available in DTiSAM, Version 3.0.2. Two patches, one for the
HemaTrax Standalone and the other for the HemaTrax Print Server, will be
released in the next few weeks. Installing the patches will correct this file in
the appropriate target application.
3. Reconstituted Red
Blood Cell Products in the HemaTrax product label database
Problem Reported:
A customer has reported that the HemaTrax product label database does not list
any products as Reconstituted Red Blood Cells.
Scope of Problem:
This issue is true for all releases of the HemaTrax Print Server and Standalone
applications with a product label database released before (April 14, 2008).
Identified Cause:
The logic of the program used by Digi-Trax to read and convert the ICCBBA
product tables into a labeling database does not identify the characteristics
and thus rename these products. This issue with the product and label design was
worked on only relatively recently (last six months) by members of the Americas
Technical Advisory Group and the ICCBBA Technical Director.
Solution:
The product label generator program is currently in the process of being
modified to better handle changes such as this. The database will be generated
and made available of update. Two patches, one for the HemaTrax Standalone and
the other for the HemaTrax Print Server, will be released in the next few weeks.
Installing the patches will correct this file in the appropriate target
application.
In the interim time customers may use the product label maintenance functions
available in the Print Server (HTClient.exe) and the Standalone application to
edit the product name.
HemaTrax Standalone "AUTOLOGOUS DONOR" print option issue
Problem Reported:
A customer has reported that having set the option to print the phrase
"AUTOLOGOUS DONOR" at the bottom of quadrant 1 (upper left) of the full face
label. That the next day when they tried to print a full face label for an
autologous collection that "VOLUNTEER DONOR" printed instead.
Scope of Problem:
This problem was duplicated by Digi-Trax in the HemaTrax Standalone, Version 6.2
release.
Identified Cause:
It was determined that on HemaTrax Standalone startup that the flag that
determines whether or not to use this printing option was not being set
properly. It was further determined that the flag does get set by just visiting
the "Options" window available from the "Setup" pull-down menu.
Solution:
The HemaTrax Standalone application function that handles the internal setting
of options flags at program startup has been corrected. A patch for the HemaTrax
Standalone will be released in the next few weeks.
