HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 (Standalone Ver. 5.0A) & (TCP/IP Print Server Ver. 1.3)
|
With support for the
EtherLite network serial terminal server, it is now possible to place our Digi-Trax Enhanced SATO and Zebra Technologies blood bank label printers at much greater distances from the HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 TCP/IP Print Server. Support for the EtherLite product, manufactured by Digi International, has been added to Version 1.3 of the HemaTrax TCP/IP Print Server and Version 5.0A of the HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 Standalone program. Up to thirty-two serial ports may be supported by the HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 TCP/IP Print Server. These ports may be a mix of local native hardware COM ports and/or EtherLite network serial terminal server COM ports. The EtherLite network terminal server boxes come in a variety of port handling capacities from two to thirty-two port units. We believe that the EtherLite-2 two port terminal server, which retails for $495.00, or the EtherLite-8 eight port server, which retails for $995.00, will be the most popular devices for use with HemaTrax.
Using the EtherLite device with the HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 TCP/IP Print Server allows printers to be located on another floor or in another building, which is impossible with a local serial connection on the server. Unlike using internal serial port add-in interface boards, which require that the server computer be shut completely down and the case opened for installation, the EtherLite device installation is much simpler. The hardware installation of the EtherLite device is as simple as plugging in its power supply and connecting a supplied (12 foot) CAT-5 patch cable between the 10 Base-T access point and the EtherLite box.
Using the EtherLite-8 device with the HemaTrax.LPS ISBT-128 Standalone system will quickly provide eight serial lines to drive all of the printers in your donation center labeling department. Unlike using internal serial port add-in interface boards, which require that the server computer be shut completely down and the case opened for installation, the EtherLite device installation is much simpler. The EtherLite hardware installation it is just a matter of plugging in the unit's power supply and connecting the EtherLite box to your existing 10 Base-T Ethernet network using the (12 foot) CAT-5 patch cable supplied. |

While the EtherLite product is available from a discount computer dealer, support for it with HemaTrax is not. Buying the EtherLite network terminal servers from Digi-Trax, as with all products purchased from us, provides you with our installation and configuration support. We have designed the EtherLite serial cables and tested them to make certain that they work properly with all of the printer models that we support. We can provide you with CAT-5 patch and serial cables in the lengths that will match your needs and allow your installation to go more smoothly.
