Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
Most
of us have read about this new technology being employed now by the U.S.
Department of Defense and companies like Walmart.
RFID will in the not-too-distant future, significantly impact Automatic
Data Capture (ADC) in the Healthcare and LifeSciences markets. As with
any new emerging technology it has more complexity and issues than one
would expect. Things are happening and the issues will be resolved.
There are even some “early adopter” projects underway in Healthcare.
Digi-Trax for its part will continue to innovate and lead. We have taken
action by becoming certified in RFID with Zebra Technologies and have
invested actively with Cognitive Solutions in an RFID project. Digi-Trax
has also partnered with Precision Dynamics Corp. (PDC); the leading
company in Patient ID wristband products, who is now producing the first
SmartBands™ with 13.56 MHZ RFID chips.
We
have begun an association with Skyetek Inc., an RFID technology
supplier. Our goal is to expand our knowledge base in order to continue
to provide our customers with the Value-Add they have come to expect
from Digi-Trax.
If you are beginning to consider RFID and have need for information or
have questions about such things as active vs. passive tags, 13.56 MHZ
vs. 915MHZ, reader/encoder devices or printing/encoding RFID labels or
tags call on Digi-Trax. |
