ISBT
128 On-Demand Compliance Labeling
Version 3.0.1 release of the HemaTrax Print Server will
include an important enhancement that all integrators will welcome. The next
release will support facility and licensee names up to one hundred
characters in length.
Facility and licensee names will wrap to two lines, each line up to fifty
characters in length. Inclusion of the vertical bar character, "|", in the
facility or licensee name field of the label request message will force a
line break at that point. In the absence of the vertical bar character, the
print server will attempt to find a logical break point in the line where a
space, comma or dash may appear. The print server will automatically adjust
character height and width to fit the name, location and registration number
text on the label.
In cases where a facility name and separate licensee name are both included
and both wrap to two lines the font size will dip below six point type. This
is a very small type size, nearing the limits of text legibility and also
approaching the limits of the SATO and Zebra Technologies printers' scalable
vector font.
This change impacts the ABO-Rh/Date & Time, Date & Time, Facility,
Facility/Product, Full Face and Product/Date & Time label formats.
This enhancement has held up the Version 3.0 release of the Print Server.
More than one company had customers with name lengths that exceeded the
print server's capacity and felt that it was important that this extension
be implemented before the next release. As a result we've had to delay the
validation to employ the additional testing that is needed. Should
validation testing continue to go smoothly, we'll likely be releasing the
Print Server by August 1st.
